Master Scott Jones is a passionate and dedicated martial artist with over 20 years of professional teaching experience. He is the founder and Master Instructor of Team Legacy Martial Arts, where he continues to inspire and educate students to be the best they can be through Martial Arts.

Scott’s journey in martial arts began at the age of 14 when he received private instruction under the tutelage of Grandmaster Frank Santarose in Katy, Texas. His commitment to martial arts was unwavering, as he devoted several hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week, to become a top student under Grandmaster Santarose. It was during this time that he discovered his natural talent for teaching and coaching students.

Over a span of nine years, Scott also contributed his expertise as an instructor to the Chuck Norris Kickstart Kids foundation. He remains dedicated to his own growth as a martial artist, constantly training and refining his skills.

As the Master Instructor and founder of Team Legacy Martial Arts, Scott has taught and mentored thousands of students over the years, including numerous AAU state and national champions. His passion lies in helping students become the best versions of themselves through martial arts training.

Scott Jones boasts expertise in multiple martial arts styles, including Tae Kwon Do, Karate, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is highly skilled in coaching students of all ages and skill levels, and his strong leadership and communication abilities make him an effective motivator.

His impressive certifications include a 7th-degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, certification as an instructor under the Chuck Norris Kickstart Kids foundation, and a Purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Professor Anthony Curry.

Jaden Nguyen

Jaden Nguyen is a martial artist whose journey in American Taekwondo began at the incredibly young age of 3. Under the guidance and tutelage of his father, the esteemed Wayne Nguyen, Jaden’s passion for martial arts ignited early in life. By the tender age of 4, Jaden was already competing and astonishing audiences with his remarkable cartwheel kicks executed flawlessly on his opponents.

At the age of 9, after six years of relentless dedication and training, Jaden took on a monumental challenge – testing for his coveted black belt. His test wasn’t just an ordinary affair; it was a grueling examination witnessed by some of the finest sport karate black belts in Texas, who were there both to observe and challenge him during the intense sparring rounds. Jaden’s unwavering determination and skill earned him the prestigious black belt, marking the beginning of a journey filled with triumphs.

Since earning his black belt, Jaden Nguyen has continued to ascend in the world of martial arts. He boasts multiple state titles as well as a coveted world championship, which speaks volumes about his exceptional talent and dedication. Jaden currently serves as a martial arts instructor at Team Legacy Martial Arts, where he imparts his knowledge and passion to the next generation of aspiring martial artists.

Jaden’s pursuits don’t end with Taekwondo; he is also a dedicated practitioner of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, under the guidance of Master Scott Jones. Additionally, he is tirelessly training in Mixed Martial Arts at Paradigm Combat Sports, honing his skills for the ultimate goal he set for himself – to one day step into the octagon and compete in the UFC.

One of the standout moments in Jaden’s career was when he executed a jaw-dropping 720 tornado kick to the head, an awe-inspiring feat that went viral, garnering admiration and recognition from martial arts enthusiasts worldwide. This iconic moment is a testament to his extraordinary abilities and the sheer artistry he brings to his craft.

Coach Chad (Front Desk Guy)

After a distinguished career serving his country as a Corpsman in the United States Navy, Chad, affectionately known as “Front Desk Guy,” retired from his military service on November 11th, 2021. His journey from the high seas to the heart of Texas is a testament to his unwavering dedication, resilience, and faith.

Chad’s military service was nothing short of remarkable. During his tenure, he served aboard the USS Nassau LHA 4, tended to the medical needs of personnel at Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital, provided care at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, and honed his skills as a surgical instructor at Portsmouth Naval School of Health and Science. It was during his time in the Navy that he pursued higher education, earning a master’s degree in Business Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs. His keen eye for detail and sharp analytical skills were developed while balancing his military responsibilities.

Chad’s life took a significant turn when he received a terminal cancer diagnosis in 2017. Undeterred by the dire prognosis, Chad embarked on a remarkable journey of resilience and hope. His unwavering faith, combined with cutting-edge medical treatment at MD Anderson, brought him and his family to the beautiful Republic of Texas.

Chad’s story is one of inspiration and triumph over adversity. He attributes his remarkable survival and resilience to his faith in God and the support of his loving family. Each day is a precious gift, and he makes it a point to express his gratitude for the time he can spend with family, friends, and the Team Legacy Mat Warriors.

As “Front Desk Guy” at Team Legacy Martial Arts, Chad serves as a symbol of strength, determination, and the indomitable human spirit. His presence is a reminder to all that no matter the challenges we face, faith, family, and community can help us overcome even the most formidable obstacles. Chad’s journey is a shining example of resilience, hope, and the power of unwavering faith.

1st Degree Black Belt (In Loving Memory)

Adored by every child met, “Kyo Sa Nim Pete” was a beloved martial arts instructors.

In his final semester earning his teaching degree in high school English, Petey felt a calling for instruction. He was a role model and looked forward to improving the world by encouraging future generations during “their toughest years”.

Unrivaled in generosity, effort, and unconditional love towards other, he shared the laughter and joy of life. He taught us the values of working hard to better oneself, despite the difficulties along the way.

To  witness the loving power he has left behind with those he knew is to understand the incredible change Petey bestowed on this earth.
